As 2013 draws to a close, initial analysis of our 2012/13 accounts reinforces the general feeling that the economic climate is indeed improving. Through this year we have welcomed two new customers, Wates and HighTown Construction and we look forward to an ongoing relationship with both through 2014 alongside our existing customers. We are also very pleased to have IHP (a joint venture between Vinci Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine delivering health projects through Procure 21+) recently join our customer base and we look forward to demonstrating to them how IBPM can be of benefit on their projects.

Continued business with existing customers led to turnover almost 50% higher in the second half of our financial year and we achieved record monthly turnover for August and September. We are now very proud to be providing Health and Safety Files and Operation and Maintenance manuals for six key players in the construction industry, as well as project development and management services to one of the leading providers of care for people with learning disabilities in the UK.

A new era begins in 2014 as Anthony leaves IBPM to rejoin Watkin Jones’ Housing Division; we would like to publicly recognise his contribution over the past two years and wish him well in his new role. Anthony’s boots are to be ably filled by my wife Carolyn who, having taken not one but two gap years following the sale of her company, is now ready to return to full time employment. Carolyn was one of a group of four health and social care professionals who, in 2003 set up a company to provide residential and supported living services for people with learning disability and associated complex needs and behaviours. They grew the company organically taking it to £6.5m turnover before selling it in 2011. She will now transfer her organisational and professional skills and expertise to support our customers and the business in general.

So, let’s hope this year provides a fun and fast ride, full of good news for our industry. #allaboardfor2014
